Chi is the force that permeates all aspects of your life. The art of Feng Shui can be used in interior design to make spaces simple and achieve balance and harmony in your home.

FENG SHUI DO'S AND DON'TS FOR YOUR DREAM HOME

Bedroom Do's:
  • Place your bed in a commanding position
    • You should be able to see the door while in bed, so you are in command of the room
  • Have a headboard against a plain wall
  • Have equal amount of space on both sides of your bed
  • Nothing under your bed
    • That stops Chi from flowing freely
  • Get rid of books
    • All of the different colors on books can overwhelm your Chi
  • Add plants, they bring vibrance and life
  • Have the biggest bed your room can accomodate
Bedroom Don'ts:

  • Your bed should never face a mirror
    • reflections disrupt your sleep 
  • Bed should not be on the same wall as your bathroom
    • your good fortune will be flushed away
  • Don't put a bed under lofted ceilings
    • you will feel under pressure
Living Room Do's:
  • The living room should be the first thing you see when you enter a home
  • Should be brighter than your bedroom
  • Sofa should be in a commanding position
    • against a wall, should see the front door but not directly in line
  • Cover the TV when not in use
  • Try to incorporate all 5 elements
Kitchen Do's:
  • Follow the kitchen triangle
    • your sink, refrigerator, and stove should make up 3 points
  • Kitchen should be at the back of the house
  • Put a window above the sink to allow natural light
  • Layer lighting
    • overhead lighting and under the counter lights
Bathroom Do's:
  • Have mirrors
    • but it should never reflect the toilet
  • The water in the bathroom is considered wasteful, replace that with positive colors
  • Keep the toilet lid closed
    • leaving it open will such the Chi out of your life
