Vacay!

Petosky, Michigan! So gorgeous,
cannot wait to visit!

Next week is SPRING BREAK! Fun fact, I have never been  anywhere for spring break before! Not on a family trip,  not with friends, nothing ever. BUT this year I am finally  hitting the road with my besties. It's a little weird  honestly, being the first time I've gone somewhere with  just friends before. I am also the person who hates breaks  from school, I genuinely cry when I have to go home for  winter break or home for the summer. My experience at  Northern has been the best two years of my life so far, so   why would I want to go home?! I met my boyfriend here, my very best friends here, truthfully Ada has started to feel more like a home to me than anywhere else, and the people here are like my family. I love my parents and my little brother more than anything of course, so I am looking forward to getting to spend some time with them. This year for spring break however, I will be splitting my time at home and out of town with my friends. I'll be heading home to Cincinnati after track practice on Friday afternoon, spending the weekend there with my family. Bright and early Monday morning I will be driving up to meet my roomies in Columbus to hit the road for our trip! These are my very best friends, and the three girls I'll be living with next year! My friend Ellie has a cabin up in Petosky, Michigan which is where we will be spending a few days. It's silly, but I'm a little nervous traveling with only my friends as I've never done this before, but mostly I am so excited to get these few days to spend with my girls!

We don't have a lot of plans, but honestly I am so excited about that. We have to run because yay track season! Other than that though, we're going to be all cozy in her cute little cabin, read books, play games and go shopping around town. We're going to stay there until Thursday night and then drive back home When I get back to Cincy, lets just say there will be a lot waiting for me.

My brother in MY room!
Even though it's his now...
My brother is in 8th grade   right now, and first of all I   CANNOT believe that he   will be in high school next year! My brother and I are six years apart,   but he has always been my best friend. From the day he was born   we've been inseparable, so the fact that he is getting so big is the most   bittersweet feeling ever. Because he's growing up though and I am   pretty much out of the house, it's time for him to get the big room.   MINE! Well, not mine anymore. Yep, while I'm in Michigan for a few   days next week, my family will be hard at work making the finishing t   touches on our room switch. They started this past week and I've   been getting a ton of photo updates, my old room has been turned   completely into a high school boys room (gross) and I had to see it   happen through photos, sadly. Now that he has officially moved into   his new room though, once I get home from Michigan it will be my   turn to downgrade and move into his old room. I will have my work cut out for me, that's for sure! I'm sad about this change since my room is quite a bit bigger, but mostly because this just solidifies the fact that we are both growing up. I'm only home for three months of the year, my brother is going into high school soon... things just never stop changing. Meredith Grey once said "The carousel never stops turning" and to be honest, I feel that so hard right now. As much as I wish I could just slow down time so everyone would just stop growing up so fast and things would just stop changing, that's not how it works unfortunately. At this point though, it's all about embracing the change and simply looking forward to the things that the future has in store!

  1. A quick girls trip sounds so fun! I have never been to Petosky, but I have been to other areas in Michigan and I've always had a blast. As for the driving, in my personal experience it goes by a lot quicker when you are in a car with your friends. I hope you have fun on your first spring break trip!!
